From Text To Image

The scenography workshop will investigate different ways of approaching a play (Heiner Muller’s “Medeea Material”)  and transpose it into a theatrical image.

We will try to shape visual inspiration into a rendered idea, and explore the relationship between word, image and action through space and time.  We will explore during the process the compositional, the aesthetic and social challenges currently facing the nowadays theater art. The workshop will explore questions that are raised by the act of making theatre in a professional context, outside the pressure of actual production, to investigate  the  many  levels  on  which  theatre design components communicates to the spectator. Ultimately irreverence is what we are after. You then have the more difficult task of convincing your collaborators and critiques that you know what you're talking about.
