Theatre Education and Training Committee ITI/UNESCO
Work of the Research Centre / Africa-Project
The Theatre Education & Training Committee of the International Theatre Institute develops specific projects on primary education, research and continuous training, on methodological themes and “training the trainers” proposed and conducted by its members.
In 2006, AKT-ZENT International Theatre Centre Berlin was appointed research centre with projects like METHODIKA International Festival for Theatre Training Methods, International Directors’ and Trainers’ Colloquium, Theatre Summer Academy.
A new line of activities and research are exchange programmes with African countries for artistic education such as acting and directing.
The Committee likes to discuss the possibilities for a collaboration with OISTAT to create an Africa-programme for scene/light/sound designers as well as a programme for technical support.
